Spending Time Together is the #1 Mother's Day Gift

61% People feel their moms would enjoy spending quality time with them over gifts

A Survey by CashKaro.com
National, 10th May, 2018: Mother’s Day is around the corner and it’s time to show your appreciation towards your doting mother. You can buy jewellery, apparel, flowers and even customised items for her. However, you’ll be surprised to know what mothers actually want from their kids on this day.
CashKaro.com conducted a special survey to gauge candid sentiments about Mother’s Day. The survey had over 1500 participants, of which 60% were men and 40% were women.

About 96% of participants said that they will celebrate Mother’s Day this year – clearly this is one day that hasn’t lost its charm. The most intriguing insight however is that a whopping 61% people said they feel that their moms would want to spend quality time with them. 21% respondents said that their moms would want a positive behavioural change as a Mother’s Day gift.
While time is the most precious gift for all moms, it’s always sweet to pamper them with some thoughtful gifts. Interestingly, last minute plans have become rather commonplace as about 57% consumers pick gifts only a few days before Mother’s Day. In terms of adding that personal touch, 24% people showed an affinity towards customized gifts.
Moreover, about 64% people plan to spend more than Rs 500 on their Mother’s Day gifts.
Also, roughly 34% participants (especially those in the 20-24 age bracket) plan to spend more than they did last year. This could be because of their newly found economic independence along with a propensity to shower gifts on their moms. However, about 96% consumers think their mom is not expecting a gift from them at all.
When it comes to buying gifts, 88% people said they will buy gifts online from sites like Amazon.com, Flipkart, Ferns & Petals, Printvenue etc. Today’s shoppers do not shy away from saving money, even when they are buying gifts!
Commenting on the survey, Swati Bhargava, Co-Founder, CashKaro.com said, “From conversations with our own mothers, Rohan and I have realised that what Mothers enjoy the most, and want the most of is our time and undivided attention – away from being glued to our phones, work, social media & plans with friends. Having said that, it always feels nice to buy gifts for Mom and pamper them as much as we can. Moms are notorious for spending money on everyone else in the family but themselves! Through this survey, we tried to gauge spending patterns of CashKaro members for Mother’s Day. CashKaro has also curated a list of handpicked Mother’s day gifts here, which are all made more affordable with our tempting Cashback offers and coupons. So go on, enjoy the day with your Mom, and treat her as she has always done to you!”
