Pihu Movie Review

Release Date: November 16, 2018
Cast: Myra Vishwakarma, Prerna Vishwakarma
Director: Vinod Kapri
Genre: Drama, Thriller
Duration: 1 hour 33 minutes

As families go nuclear, it presents various challenges for parents in terms of taking proper care of their kids. For example, what if something untoward happens to a parent while the other is away from home? Who will take care of the kids in such a situation? Based on a real story, Pihu tries to answer these questions, all while highlighting the scary situations that can emerge for nuclear families. Such things can happen to anyone, as instances of single parent and dysfunctional relationships have become quite common. The safety and security that came with living in joint families is no longer available. Most nuclear families living in urban jungles face a constant threat of being devastated by unfortunate events beyond their control.

Pihu is about the day long ordeal of 2-year-old girl child named Pihu (Myra Vishwakarma), who is left stranded in an apartment after a tragic incident. There is nothing she can do that will help her to get out of the difficult situation. Moreover, there’s not much food or water, which further complicates her problems. The movie’s theme is similar to 2016 movie ‘Trapped’, but here the situation is a lot worse since the protagonist is a 2-year-old kid and not an adult. Will Pihu survive the ordeal or will it be a series of unfortunate events for the family?

A movie with a 2-year-old playing the main protagonist has never been attempted, which makes it unique and interesting to watch. The story appeals to our emotions, as it’s quite painful to just imagine a toddler having to go through such difficult circumstances. Myra Vishwakarma is just two years old, but still she has managed to play her role quite effectively.

Pihu will appeal to your heart and it also has some nail-biting moments and an interesting climax. Go for it if you want to watch something exceptional and understand the risks children face every day
