Multi-location raids result in the seizure of counterfeit COLOURON+ products and legal action against violators
Sangli, August 2025 – JSW Steel, one of India’s leading steel manufacturers, successfully conducted anti-counterfeiting raids across three locations in Belagavi district on August 20, 21, and 22, 2025. The operations were carried out at Bailahongal, Yargatti, and Chikkodi circle in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies.
The coordinated raids resulted in the seizure of counterfeit JSW COLOURON+ products, including non-JSW sheets bearing misspelt COLOURON+ branding. Initial investigations revealed that certain individuals were involved in the illegal manufacturing, selling, and profiling of counterfeit coated sheets with fake branding that closely resembles JSW Steel’s genuine products. These counterfeit items were being marketed as original JSW Steel products to unsuspecting customers.
Following the successful operations, JSW Steel has initiated swift legal action. An FIR has been filed with charges including violations under Section 51(B) and Section 63 of the Copyright Act, demonstrating the company’s firm commitment to protecting its intellectual property rights.
“JSW Steel strongly condemns the unauthorized use of its trademarks, logos, and other intellectual property,” said a company spokesperson. “As part of our ongoing efforts to protect our brand reputation and goodwill, we diligently monitor and take decisive action against counterfeiters and any entities infringing on our intellectual property rights.”
