Devanshu Batra Files Lawsuit: IGT Faces Cyber Cell Complaint Over Exploitation and Mental Harassment
Former employee Devanshu Batra alleges toxic work culture, sudden AI-driven layoffs, and lack of support
Gurugram: IGT Company is facing serious allegations after a former employee, Devanshu Batra, filed a lawsuit accusing the firm of exploitation, mental harassment, and defamation. The case comes in the wake of a recent incident where a young woman reportedly died due to excessive workload, sparking debates over the company’s toxic work culture.
Termination Without Reason
Batra claims he was abruptly terminated nearly one and a half years ago following the company’s adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, which triggered mass layoffs. According to him, the company neither provided prior notice nor offered financial assistance, leaving him to endure prolonged mental and financial distress.
NGO Steps In
An NGO dedicated to supporting underprivileged children and women has stepped forward to assist Batra in his legal battle. The NGO stated that despite repeated attempts to hold discussions with IGT, the company refused to respond directly and allegedly mocked their intervention.
Allegations Against the Company
In his complaint, Batra has accused IGT of mental harassment, torture, unethical practices, and defamation. He has also lodged a formal complaint with the Cyber Cell, adding a stronger legal dimension to the case.
The case has reignited discussions on workplace exploitation, the pressures of toxic work environments, and the adverse effects of AI-led job cuts on employees’ livelihoods.
